The engineer, who said he lived in the same neighbourhood as Yerima during their childhood, provided details about the officer.

Childhood friend discloses Yerima's 'date of birth'
The information came through a post shared on X by the engineer via his official handle @midhenry25.
He claimed that Yerima was born on 20 July 1992 in Kaduna State before later settling with his family in Port Harcourt.
According to him, those who knew the officer were not surprised by his splay of restraint, as he had already shown a coordinated temperament from a young age.
He explained that Yerima did not initially set out on a military track, as his first academic pursuit took him to Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria to study Mass Communication.
Not too long afterwards, he changed his mind and decided to go to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).

According to her, Yerima was her husband's junior during his time at the Nigerian Military School (NMS).
