However, the tracker was not always accurate, and the rider's location was difficult to pinpoint, @jushpuppi on TikTok narrated.

Undeterred, the man and his friends continued to communicate with the rider, trying to get him to return the package.

Meanwhile, they discovered that the rider had used a number to contact them, which was linked to his girlfriend. They contacted her, posing as a love interest, and ignited a deep communication with her.

The man, pretending to be interested in the girlfriend, started chatting with her on TikTok and eventually arranged a meeting.

During their conversation, the girlfriend mentioned that she was not serious about her relationship with the rider, which gave the man an opportunity to gather more information.

When the meeting was arranged, the man informed his friends, who were working with law enforcement officers.

They set up a trap, and the rider was apprehended when he arrived at the agreed location. The package was recovered, and the rider was taken into custody.

The man shared the story on TikTok, expressing his relief that the operation was successful.

He emphasised the importance of honesty in business dealings and warned dispatch riders against engaging in theft.

"How we caught a dispatch rider that ran away with our package through his girlfriend. Dispatch rider running away with package. Delivery business owners how do you deal with this situation?" he captioned the video.

Commenting on the story, a Nigerian businessman, Andrew Eyo, said a dispatch rider once fled with his gadget.

"I experienced this in Lagos but not here in Uyo. And I pray I don't experience it again because I will go any length to make that person pay. He ran away with my gadget. Though I later caught him but he had already sold it to someone. And the process of tracking getting back the gadget was just stressful," he said.
