Student of Texas Tech University Expelled And Arrested Over What She Said About Charlie Kirk

The murder of Charlie Kirk has continued to generate ripples across the United States.

Since the conservative figure was killed, his followers have continued to mourn him.

However, there are also people who did not like Charlie Kirk owing to the views he held.

Some people who did not like him have openly said so. One of them was arrested at Texas Tech University.

According to a report by Fox News Austin, the arrested individual is a student of the school.

The student is identified as Camryn Giselle Booker, 18, who reportedly mocked Charlie Kirk's death.

She was said to have made disparaging remarks about Charlie Kirk in the presence of students observing a vigil for him.

She said:

"F--k y’all homie dead, he got shot in the head."

A spokesperson for the Texas Tech Police Department was quoted by Fox News Digital as saying the student was arrested for simple assault.

The statement said:

"The Texas Tech Police Department arrested a student for simple assault, which occurred on the west side of the Student Union Building (free speech area). The student was transported to the Lubbock County Jail."

Apart from being arrested, Camryn was also expelled from the university. She was later charged and released after posting a $200 bond.

According to Texas Tech University, it frowns on behaviours that denigrate victims of violence.

"Any behaviour that denigrates victims of violence is reprehensible, has no place on our campus, and is not aligned with our values. Federal law prevents Texas Tech University from commenting on individual student conduct matters. We take all reported violations seriously and address them under university policy and the law."

University staff sacked over comments about Charlie Kirk

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the assistant dean of Middle Tennessee State University, USA, was sacked over a controversial action.

The decision to fire her came after what she said about Charlie Kirk went viral and attracted condemnation.

The Middle Tennessee State University issued a statement saying the staff member had been sacked after her post went viral.
