Trump: Concerned American Farmer Shares What Will Happen if Crackdown on Immigrant Workers Continues

The fear of farm labour shortages is increasing among farmers in the United States of America.
There have been reports of some farms lacking the labour they need to function the way they used to in the past.

In a recent report by CNN, a farmer had said many of those who work in his cherry farm went into hiding over fear of being arrested and deported.
A video shared by the outlet shows some cherries going bad because immigrant worker were not there to harvest them.
Meanwhile, another farmer, identified as Hans Breitenmoser, said the farming system in the US cannot work without immigrant workers.
The dairy farmer said he has been in the business his entire life, noting that the system has always relied on immigrants for staffing. He spoke in a video shared on TikTok by USA Today.
He said he is 100% sure that if immigrants are not available to work because of the crackdown, then farms would not function as they have to.
He said:
"I have been involved in dairy farming my entire life. I grew up on this farm. This is the farm my parents came to when they emigrated here to the United States and I have been here ever since.
"For 30 years, I have been hiring foreign-born people because there is not enough domestic people that want to come and work here. We have built an economy that relies on people but we have a public policy that demonizes them.
"To my way, I think that doesn't just make any sense. I think the changes that the administration and that Congress needs to make is to have some easier path to permanent resident status so that they got legal status in this country to be doing the work.
"So that they can travel back and forth without worrying both on our roads but also back and forth to get back home. Can agriculture work without them? Absolutely, 100% no. It cannot."
