Passengers at a Nigerian airport broke into spontaneous applause for a group of soldiers walking through the terminal, in a moment captured on a bystander's smartphone that has since gone viral on social media.
The video, shared on X, shows uniformed military personnel in camouflage moving through what appears to be a busy airport terminal, navigating around luggage and seating areas as travellers around them clapped and offered words of appreciation.

"Felt so proud and happy watching this. I was at the airport when this soldiers who are probably returning from a mission were celebrated and clapped for by all of us at the airport. Troops kill armed bandit
Previously, Legit.ng reported that troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) killed one suspected bandit and detained two others in separate security operations carried out across Benue State on August 19, 2026.
Lt Ahmad Zubairu, the Acting Media Information Officer of OPWS, said both missions were triggered by credible intelligence on criminal groups active along the Jortar–Atume axis and within Logo Local Government Area.
