Reacting to this via X, [@KAA_Truths] wrote:

"Felt so proud and happy watching this. I was at the airport when this soldiers who are probably returning from a mission were celebrated and clapped for by all of us at the airport. More of this please. These soldiers deserves more encouragement. Salute to every soldier out there making sure we still have a country. You guys are the real heroes of this country."

The video drew a wide range of responses. @DefenseNigeria, described it as a standout display of public appreciation, writing:

"This is one of the greatest displays of patriotism I've seen from members of the public. As Nigerian soldiers made their way through an airport terminal, passengers spontaneously broke into applause, showing their appreciation."

Troops kill armed bandit

Previously, Legit.ng reported that troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) killed one suspected bandit and detained two others in separate security operations carried out across Benue State on August 19, 2026.

Lt Ahmad Zubairu, the Acting Media Information Officer of OPWS, said both missions were triggered by credible intelligence on criminal groups active along the Jortar–Atume axis and within Logo Local Government Area.
