NAFDAC Kaduna has closed a yoghurt and flavoured drink depot after inspectors uncovered operations carried out under unhygienic conditions. The agency said the environment posed a serious risk to consumers due to the likelihood of contamination.
According to NAFDAC, the shutdown followed an enforcement visit where officials documented poor handling practices and general neglect of basic safety standards.

The agency said the operators failed to meet requirements for the storage and distribution of consumable products.
NAFDAC stated that the decision to seal the depot was necessary to prevent compromised products from reaching the market.
The agency added that the action aligned with its mandate to safeguard public health through routine surveillance and enforcement.
NAFDAC withdraws approval for Pharmaceutical products
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that NAFDAC had announced the withdrawal, suspension, and cancellation of approval for several pharmaceutical products.
This decision, shared via a post on X, affects the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale, and use of these products within Nigeria.
