Nigerian Navy Begins Recruitment for Nigerians Nationwide, Application Link Emerges

FCT, Abuja - The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its Basic Training School Batch 38 recruitment exercise, calling on eligible Nigerians to apply online.

According to a statement released by the Navy Secretary, the application process is free of charge.

NAF also noted that it will run from Friday, 2 October to Thursday, 31 October 2025 via the official portal: www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng

Eligibility requirements outlined

The Navy stressed that only Nigerian citizens by birth with a National Identification Number (NIN) are eligible to apply.

Applicants must also be medically, psychologically, and physically fit, and free from any criminal convictions.

The age and academic requirements vary depending on the category of application.

For instance, O’Level/SSCE holders must be between 18 and 22 years by 31 December 2025, with a minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

Similarly, applicants with OND/NCE qualifications must be aged 18 to 26 years, while those applying for trades such as drivers or mechanics must be between 18 and 28 years.

Navy warns against payment requests

The statement emphasised that the recruitment process is entirely free and cautioned applicants against making payments to anyone during the exercise.

“The Nigerian Navy Online registration and all other Recruitment processes are FREE OF CHARGE and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise,” the statement read.

Training and documentation

Successful candidates will undergo rigorous basic military training and will be enlisted into the service of the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.

Applicants are also required to print out and present their acknowledgement form, parent/guardian consent form, and local government attestation form at designated centres.

The Navy Secretary reiterated the service’s commitment to a transparent recruitment process.

“We encourage all qualified Nigerians who meet the requirements to apply. The Nigerian Navy remains committed to fairness and transparency in this recruitment exercise,” the statement added.

The recruitment examination will be conducted on 29 November 2025 across designated centres nationwide.

INEC begins job recruitment

Previously, Legit.ng reported that The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced fresh job opportunities for Nigerians to serve as ad-hoc staff during the upcoming Anambra state 2025 governorship election.

The positions include Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs), and Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers.

According to INEC, the online registration portal, INECPRES, will be open to the public for three weeks from Monday, September 15, to Sunday, October 5, 2025.
