Anambra Governorship 2025: Soludo Assured Landslide Victory after Key Community's Endorsement

Chairman of Tenants-Landlords Association in Odume Obosi, Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, Hon. Innocent Agucha, has given offical reasons why the group endorsed the second tenure aspiration of Governor Charles Soludo ahead of the November 8 governorship election in the state.

In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng correspondent on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the event held in Obosi, the chairman outlined several key achievements of the governor that influenced this decision.

Odume Obosi community backs Soludo’s re-election

Agucha x-rayed the significant improvements in security across the state, which he credited to the governor's efforts in the security of lives and property in the state; adding that such efforts have brought about safer environment for citizens.

The chairman also pointed to the extensive road construction projects totalling about 800km, which he said, is constructed just within three years of Governor Soludo’s tenure, adding that it has improved accessibility within the state.

He added:

"The governor's initiatives in urban renewal, which have revitalized infrastructure and enhanced the aesthetic appeal of urban areas, has contributed to better living conditions of Ndi Anambra. The governor has also made great advancement in the health sector, including improved healthcare facilities and services. He has renovated, beautified and equiped all the general hospitals in Anambra State. Additionally, Soludo's administration has upgraded Anambra public schools with state-of-the-art facilities, and has given free education to pupils and students from nursery classes to senior secondary classes in public schools in the state.
"Most importantly, through the efforts of the governor in introducing the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, 2025, as well as his string support for security agencies, it is now possible, unlike before, for residents of the state to sleep with their two eyes closed. All these critical considerations make us think that Soludo is a deserving candidate for re-election."

He suggested that Governor Soludo has demonstrated a commitment to the development and welfare of Anambra citizens, justifying their endorsement for his second tenure.

Earlier during the well-attended town hall meeting, which drew a diverse mix of residents, community leaders, and political stakeholders, the association unanimously endorsed the governor, and reiterated their support for his second tenure.

In an unanimous vote of confidence, the gathering expressed collective support for Governor Soludo, citing his administration’s track record of performance and people-oriented policies as key reasons behind their decision.

Tenants, landlords hail security and road projects

Participants at the meeting commended the governor’s strides in infrastructure, education, and security, and pledged to mobilize grassroots support to ensure a landslide victory at the polls.

The chairman of the Tenant–Landlord Association, Hon. Innocent Agucha, used the opportunity to call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure early delivery of election materials, especially ballot boxes, to the area.

“Odume has one of the highest voter populations in this area. The delays we experienced in the 2021 governorship election must not repeat. Timely deployment of electoral materials is critical to inclusive participation,” Agucha said.

A tenant in the area, Mr. Christopher Mbam, from Izzi in Ebonyi State, expressed delight on the developmental strides of Governor Soludo.

The 58 year-old Mbam, who said that he was born in the state, drew comparison between Soludo administration's policy on security and what it used to be under previous administrations, and further highlighted what he described as transformative efforts of Governor Soludo's government to give better life to the citizens.

Another tenant in the area, Mrs Felicia Odo, who said she is from Enugu State, said that her family has benefited greatly from some of Governor Soludo's policies and programmes, including one youth - two skills, free education policy in public schools, among other benefits.

In his remarks during the meeting, the Honourable Commissioner for Works in the state, Mr. Ifeanyi Okoma, who is from Obosi community, urged residents to turn out in their numbers on the election day to vote for what he described as “a transformational leader whose governance model is delivering real dividends of democracy.”

He underscored the importance of vigilance, and urged voters to remain at their polling units to ensure that their votes are counted and declared transparently and without interference before they leave the polling station.

“Protect your votes. Don’t allow them to be counted outside the polling unit," the commissioner admonished. “Come out in large numbers and let your voice be heard in support of good governance."

Community contributes N15m for Governor Soludo

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Nando United Brothers Association (NUBA), has endorsed the second term bid of Governor Charles Soludo, ahead of the November 8 election.

The group said Soludo did marvelously well in infrastructural development of which Nando community benefitted.

They assured of mobilizing men and resources to ensure Soludo's second term aspiration success.
