Anambra Governorship 2025: Soludo's Re-election Bid Gets Major Support

  • Nando United Brothers Association (NUBA), has endorsed the second term bid of Governor Charles Soludo, ahead of the November 8 election
  • The group said Soludo did marvelously well in infrastructural development of which Nando community benefitted
  • They assured of mobilizing men and resources to ensure Soludo's second term aspiration success

National President, Nando United Brothers Association, Chief Martin Chukwuka (Akajiugo Nando), has said that his group, in collaboration with other respected stakeholders of Nando community, in Anambra East local government area of Anambra State, endorsed and assured of their total support for the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as he seeks a second tenure in office because of numerous infrastructural developments done across the state by the governor's administration, which Nando community benefitted.

Chukwuka said that the group's purpose of endorsing Soludo's second term aspiration, and supporting him with fifteen million naira was to appreciate his transformative efforts in Anambra State, and to assure him that Nando is supporting him totally in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

He enumerated some of the achievements of Soludo's administration in Nando community to include rehabilitation of Nando water works, renovation and equipping of Nando health centers, among other projects.

According to him:

"Nando United Brothers Association visited the governor at the new Anambra government house known as the Light House, where we endorsed him and supported him for his campaign. Our decision to endorse Soludo and support his second term aspiration is guided by facts that cannot be ignored. Since assuming office, Prof. Soludo has demonstrated rare courage, uncommon wisdom, and unshakable commitment to repositioning Anambra on the path of greatness.

"His style of leadership has shown that politics can truly be used as a tool for service and not for self-interest, and we have watched with admiration as he tackles insecurity with bold reforms, restoring discipline in governance, expanding infrastructure, promoting industrialization, and prioritizing education and youth empowerment.
"The ongoing road constructions across Anambra, the transformation in healthcare delivery, the urban renewal projects, and his relentless pursuit of a clean, green, and livable Anambra State are undeniable testaments to his visionary leadership.

Earlier, a former member of Anambra State House of Assembly representing Anambra East State Constituency, Hon. Chris Obinna Emeneka, who is from the community, told the governor that the purpose of the visit was to appreciate his transformative efforts in Anambra State, and to assure him that Nando would support him totally in the forthcoming gubernatorial election. He assured the governor that Nando would be totally delivered to APGA. He expressed optimism that key areas of need in Nando won't be forgotten when the governor emerges victorious in the November 8 election.

President General of Nando Development Union (NDU), Chief Nkachikwulu Nwakor, who was among the delegation, appreciated the governor for the rehabilitation of Nando water works, health centers and other projects. He appreciated the governor's impact and expressed hope that the community would benefit more of such during the governor's second tenure.

Another member of NUBA, Chief Onyeaka Uwadiegwu, who gave the final address to the governor on behalf of the delegation, assured Governor Soludo of maximum support from Nando, saying that Nando believes in him, having achieved so much with so little resources available.

In his response, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude for the warm wishes, prayers and promises to work for his success in the forthcoming election. He assured the gathering that his government is strategic in its projects execution, targeting major needs of every community.

According to him, Anambra north senatorial zone received 5 new general hospitals fully constructed and equipped, and also that some communities has major roads constructed, and so many other millennial projects being targeted for execution. He also assured that Nando community won't be forgotten by his administration.

He encouraged the delegation to ensure that peace and harmony are enthroned in the town.

Highpoints of the visit was presentation of cheque of fifteen million naira (N15,000,000.00), branded caps and T.shirts to the governor to support his campaign.

Among the delegation were Hon. Obinna Emenaka, former member of Anambra State House of Assembly; Chief Martin Chukwuka, President of NUBA; Chief Nkachikwulu Nwakor, President General of Nando Development Union; Chief Sunday Obinze, President General, Ikem Ivite Development Union.

Armed vigilantes storm corpers' lodge

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a disturbing video had surfaced on social media showing armed vigilante operatives brutally assaulting a female corps member and her colleagues in Anambra state.

The operatives, identified as members of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, were seen storming a corps members’ lodge and attacking occupants despite their efforts to prove their identity.
