Badagry West Local Council Development Area has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Vice Chairman, Princess Oluremi Ajose.
The council official died on Saturday, barely two months after taking the oath of office alongside the council chairman, Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren.

Her remains have been deposited in a morgue while the cause of death has not been disclosed.
Princess Ajose was the daughter of His Royal Majesty Oba Oyekan Possi Ajose, the Alapa of Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom.
Her sudden passing has shocked political colleagues, traditional institutions and residents across Badagry Division.
Badagry council vice chairman dies suddenly
Confirming the development on Sunday, the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Ajose Kumayon, issued a condolence statement describing her death as a great loss to Badagry and Lagos State.
“Princess Oluremi was a true servant of the people, a leader with compassion, humility, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development,” he said.
Kumayon praised her dedication to public service and the positive impact she had within the community.
He added that her purposeful life left “footprints of integrity, diligence, and love for humanity,” and prayed for strength for her family, friends and council colleagues to bear the loss.
The late vice chairman was widely regarded as a bridge between the traditional and political spheres of Badagry, drawing from her royal heritage to foster unity and development.
Her tenure, though brief, was noted for outreach to local groups and efforts to strengthen community projects.
Fake “Obi of Lagos” confesses to fraud
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Lagos State Police Command had provided fresh details on the arrest of a man who falsely presented himself as the “Obi of Lagos” and attempted to stage an elaborate installation ceremony.
The suspect, 65-year-old Chibuike Azubike, was picked up along with three alleged accomplices after police uncovered plans to unveil a prototype of a fictitious ₦1.5 billion “Obi of Lagos Palace” at Apple Hall in Amuwo Odofin on September 13.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi said in a statement on Thursday that preliminary investigation showed Azubike acted without any endorsement from legitimate traditional authorities.
Lagos probes viral video of students drinking
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Lagos State authorities had launched an investigation into a viral video that shows students suspected to be from Excel College, Ejigbo, smoking and drinking alcohol inside what appears to be a dormitory.
The footage, which surfaced on social media, has triggered public concern over the conduct of the students and the level of supervision within the school.
The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education confirmed that the Office of Education Quality Assurance has begun a detailed probe to authenticate the video and identify those involved.
