ADC criticises Tinubu over Buhari's burial

Bolaji Abdullahi, the interim national publicity secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), recently alleged that President Tinubu was using the burial of the late former president to whitewash his image and make political gain.

Titilope Anifowoshe, a legal practitioner, in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, said it is understandable that the party wanted to be aired, but noted that there must be a limit in politics, and one of such limits is death.

She maintained that while the ADC is seeking relevance, the party must balance its criticism and employ cultural decency in a situation of high national emotions, such as the case of the former president.

She said:

"As a rising opposition party, I understand ADC's urgency to assert its voice on national issues. However, politics must have limits, and death is one of them.
"President Muhammadu Buhari was not just a politician; he was a former Head of State and two-term elected President who dedicated over 40 years of his life to Nigeria’s service. A state-sponsored burial isn’t a political gift; it is a matter of national respect."
