He accused those promoting Jonathan’s candidacy of being the same individuals who worked against him in 2015, The Cable reported.
“People pushing Jonathan, what strength do they have? Were they not the same people who worked against him in 2015?” he asked.
PDP must avoid fresh crisis
Furthermore, the FCT minister also stressed that the PDP should avoid decisions that would deepen its internal divisions.
“For Christ’s sake, nobody should create problems for the party. When you cause problems, you are the one to blame,” he said.

The minister also dismissed suggestions that former Anambra governor Peter Obi should return to the PDP.
“Obi was abusing the party, saying it is rotten. So now the party is suddenly good enough for him to come and contest on its platform?” Wike asked.
According to him, allowing Obi back into the PDP would further damage the party.
“Anybody suggesting that Obi should return is entitled to their opinion. But if you want to destroy this party, then bring Obi back,” he warned.
Wike added:
“That kind of ambition can make people even go to Satan’s house.”
Obi, who left the PDP in 2022 before its presidential primary, contested the 2023 elections on the Labour Party (LP) platform. He has since aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, Vanguard reported.
Wike rules out contesting against Tinubu
The minister further stated that he has no interest in running for president against President Bola Tinubu, despite the ticket being zoned to the south.
“I will not run. I have integrity and I have character. My position is clear. There is no way my appointer is there, and we are saying he should run, and then I turn around and say I want to contest?”
