Ikeja, Lagos state - Other things being equal, the federal government will declare a public holiday in early September for all public servants and residents to commemorate the 2025 Eid-ul-Maulud.

Legit.ng reports that Eid-ul-Maulud is an Islamic holiday celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, observed yearly on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

Eid-ul-Maulud 2025

Kaduna state

Eid-el-Maulud is usually celebrated in Zazzau emirates in Kaduna state with a spectacular durbar.

The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, displays the culture and tradition of the emirate with a colourful durbar procession.

Kano state Governor, Abba Yusuf, extended 'deepest congratulations' to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Maulud 2024.

The governor described the occasion as a special one for Muslims to reflect on the exemplary life, teachings, and virtues of the Prophet, who embodied peace, compassion, humility, and love for humanity.

He, therefore, urged Muslims to use the occasion for prayers, seeking divine intervention for peace, stability, and prosperity in the face of the current persistent security and economic challenges in the state and the entire country.
