The incident, which reportedly occurred on July 23, 2025, gained widespread attention after it was shared by the Haven 360 Foundation on Facebook.
Corps member stripped naked and assaulted
In the footage, a corps member identified as Jennifer Edema Elohor was stripped naked, beaten, and left bleeding while men carrying guns hurled degrading threats at her.
According to the Haven 360 Foundation, the vigilantes accused the corps members of being internet fraudsters. The foundation said the victims presented their NYSC identification cards and uniforms to confirm their status but were still subjected to violence.

“We strongly condemn the brutal assault and violation of rights of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members by operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi or ‘Agunechemba Vigilante Group’ in Anambra State,” the group wrote.
The foundation further noted that the attack went beyond physical violence, as the corps members were forced to endure humiliating and sexually degrading threats.
Elohor’s ordeal, in particular, has drawn outrage, with human rights advocates calling it an assault on both dignity and national values.
Nigerians react to disturbing video
Netizens have condemned the conduct of the errant security operatives who dehumanised the card-carrying corps members in the disturbing video despite knowing their identities.
Many questioned who gave the local vigilantes the authority to go after alleged internet fraudsters to the extent that they resorted to an untoward approach in executing the unsanctioned and largely unconstitutional operation.
