President-elect Tinubu commiserates with Senator Orji Kalu over wife's death

FCT, Abuja - The President-elect, Asíwájú Bola Tinubu, has expressed his sympathy and condolences to the Chief Whip of the Senate, who is also a former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, over the passing of his first wife, Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu, at 61.

While noting that the death of a loved one, like a wife, is painful and saddening, he urged the former governor to accept the loss as the will of God, a statement from the office of the president-elect sent to Legit.ng on Monday, April 3 reads.

The statement from the office of the president-elect says:

"Please be consoled by the memories of the good time you both shared and the fact that the late Mrs. Ifeoma Kalu lived most of her life in the service of God and humanity."

He prayed that God Almighty console Senator Kalu, the children and all those left behind by the deceased and grant her soul eternal rest.

Senator Kalu had earlier on Monday, in a post on his official social media page signed by him, announced the passing of his first wife, Mrs Ifeoma Kalu.

Kalu announced the demise of his wife on his verified Facebook page on Monday evening and noted that a memorial service would be held in her honour in the United States.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Orji Uzor Kalu, the senate chief whip, announced the loss of his dear wife to the cold hand of death on Monday.

The senator also disclosed that a memorial service would be held in memory of Mrs Ifeoma Ada, who died at 61, in the United States.

While the cause of her death was not disclosed by the senator, Kalu said her late wife was committed to the service of God and humanity and called for prayer for the family.
