Rechargeable TV Combats Unstable Power Supply in Nigeria

An electronic company with innovative ideas joins business giants (like innoson) in competing with foreign brands in the Nigerian market.

The company has created a rechargeable television set they call “Misan TV”, which was designed to ensure nonstop entertainment despite the poor and unstable power supply in Nigeria.

The CEO of Misan TV, Paul Ulimisan Etuwewe, experienced his fair share of heartbreaking disappointments with the fluctuating power supply.

He recounts this particular experience as the catalyst for this product, “I remember the lights going out just before Nigeria scored against Burkina Faso in the 2013 African cup of Nations, E pain me die! Since that match, I have been thinking of ways to help people enjoy their best programs without any interruptions.”

Paul’s short-lived excitement later led to the creation of Misan TV which lasts for 5 hours once fully charged, and has been described to have a “sleek, trendy”. The device also has an outlet that allows you to power a decoder and other low-energy electronics

The product has also received praise from prominent men in the society including His Royal Highness, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of the Warri kingdom.

Currently, Misan TV at a competitively affordable price, giving big names in the electronics industry a run for their money with its unique value proposition.

For expansion into an already researched and promising market, Misan TV would require more funding to scale its production of rechargeable TV sets.

Funding will enable Misan TV to acquire more machinery and meet the rising demand for its innovative product.

Once Misan TV has been fully commercialized and becomes a household name, the company plans to expand this product to other markets across Africa that share the similar problem of unstable power supply.
