National Assembly members planning to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari are jokers. This is the position Alhaji Sani Mohammed Sha’aban.
Sha’aban who is a former House of Representatives member and 2023 All Progressives Congress’ governorship aspirant in Kaduna state, and an in-law to the president, the lawmakers were partly responsible for the economic and security challenges bedeviling the country.

He insisted that the lawmakers have failed in their oversight functions, especially with regard to security and economy.
He alleged that they are only interested in oversight functions when they are broke so that they can get allowances and ‘Ghana must go’ attached.

He made this known while speaking with journalists in Kaduna.
He said:
“So, if anybody will wake up today, coming from the Senate or House of Representatives and points accusing fingers on President Buhari on security, I challenge that person to go and impeach Buhari tomorrow if he dares.
“As you point your finger, millions of people from your constituency will point finger at you. You say you are representing them, is it when it pinches most that you will find a scapegoat? And you want to make Buhari a scapegoat?”

Meanwhile, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has now reacted to calls for President Muhammadu Buhari's impeachment.
Adamu, during an interview with Daily Trust on Monday, August 15, acknowledged the fact that some APC senators are behind moves to remove President Buhari from office before his tenure expires.
He revealed that senators in the ruling party who were working to see Buhari ousted are those who lost tickets for elective offices during the last primaries.
