Dr Chike Akunyili, the late husband of former minister of Information and Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration Control (NAFDAC), Dora Akunyili has been buried.
He was buried at his Agulu home in the Anaocha local government area of Anambra state on Thursday, November 25.
Dr Akunyili, a medical doctor was assassinated by unknown gunmen on September 29, 2021, in Anambra state.
He was returning to Enugu from an event in Onitsha, Anambra state where his late wife was given a posthumous award.

Speaking, one of his children, Obum Akunyili, said though his father’s death was painful, he( late Chike) was a fulfilled man whose children were doing great in the various areas of their calling.
He said family friends, relations and well wishers from Canada, United States and other countries attended the burial ceremony.
Amongst those who attended the burial service were a former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi and his wife, Margret; a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Senator Victor Umeh; the Anambra State deputy governor-elect, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim; representatives of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo , five Catholic bishops and scores of other priests.

In a related report, Governor Willie Obiano has announced N20 million reward for anyone who has useful information that can lead to the arrest of those behind the gruesome murder of Dr Chike Akunyili and other heinous attacks in Anambra state.
The Anambra governor made this known in his address posted on Facebook on Wednesday, September 29.
Obiano lamented that some armed persons have unleashed terror with sporadic attacks on innocent citizens in various parts of the state in the past few days.
