Popular Yoruba actress Toyin Afolayan, well known as Lola Idije, has cleared the misconception many people have about her due to her roles in movies.
Lola Idije, known for playing the role of a wicked mother-in-law in Yoruba movies, disclosed that her character in movies was very different from her real-life persona.

The actress, while speaking on a podcast with her junior colleague Ayo Adesanya, dismissed claims that her on-set character was influenced by drinks or cigarettes.
Lola, who revealed that she only drinks water, recounted her experience with an upcoming actor who wanted to know the source of her energy in movies.

According to the actress, God has been her source of energy. Lola, who is also the younger sister of the late Adeyemi Afolayan, aka Ade Love, considered one of the pioneers of the movie industry, disclosed that her brother trained to be agile in his roles.

Lola Afolayan gained recognition after starring as Madam Adisa in the 1995 film titled Deadly Affair. She is known as the initiator of the popular internet slang 'Soro Soke werey' and 'Pele My Dear'.
