Omah Lay has accused a fellow artist of stealing his album concept, sparking controversy in the Nigerian music industry.

Although the Boy Alone crooner failed to mention the artist's name directly, he shared screenshots of his chat with Rema, where he discussed his ideas, which seem to have been used in the Ozeba crooner's album.

In a previous interview with Zach Sang, he revealed that an artist he respected and collaborated with stole his idea, forcing him to redo his entire album.

Omah Lay claimed that he had shared his vision with this artist, who then released an album with a similar concept just four months later.

The Soso crooner believed that this experience ultimately led him to create something groundbreaking.

Using his burner account, he shared a conversation between him and Rema, where they agreed to collaborate on a project.

Omah Lay discusses being owner of Afro-Depression

Meanwhile, Nigerian singer Omah Lay was on Billboard's News, where he talked about his upcoming album and the future of Afrobeats.

During the conversation, Omah Lay shared how happy he was that his fans were the ones who named his style of music and genre.

He noted that his style of music Afro-depression is so unique that every other artist now copy at least a thing or two from it.
