Omah Lay has accused a fellow artist of stealing his album concept, sparking controversy in the Nigerian music industry.

In a previous interview with Zach Sang, he revealed that an artist he respected and collaborated with stole his idea, forcing him to redo his entire album.
He stated:
"I had to go back and remake my album, which is going to be the greatest album of all time in Afrobeats history."
Omah Lay claimed that he had shared his vision with this artist, who then released an album with a similar concept just four months later.
The Soso crooner believed that this experience ultimately led him to create something groundbreaking.
Using his burner account, he shared a conversation between him and Rema, where they agreed to collaborate on a project.
