Ogogo’s alleged herbal treatment sparks concern as popular singer reaches out to Muslim cleric

  • Popular singer Yinka TNT sent a strongly worded message to an Islamic cleric who publicly disclosed Nollywood actor Ogogo's hospital condition
  • The cleric, known as Alihamidtv, had visited Ogogo on August 20, 2026, and shared a deeply troubling update about the veteran actor's health
  • Yinka TNT accused the cleric of breaching patient confidentiality and using Ogogo's illness to advertise his traditional medicine business

Popular Nigerian singer Yinka TNT has called out an Islamic cleric for publicly sharing confidential details about ailing Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo's health condition without the family's consent.

The cleric, who goes by the name Alihamidtv on Facebook, had made headlines after visiting Ogogo at a Lagos hospital on Thursday, 20 August 2026, where he delivered litres of herbal concoction.

Yinka TNT took serious issue with this public disclosure, directing a lengthy and pointed message at the cleric.

"You took herbs to someone in the hospital and you came online to reveal it despite the fact that you know it's not allowed in the hospital. To me, you are using someone's sickness to advertise your own business. Do you even know what confidentiality is?" the singer wrote.

The singer argued that Ogogo's daughters, who had previously appealed to the public for support, were careful not to reveal the full extent of their father's condition. He questioned why the cleric felt entitled to go further without the family's knowledge or permission.

"The daughters that came out to seek for help from the public didn't go into full details of their dad's condition but you came out without seeking the family's consent to tell the world his condition," Yinka TNT wrote.

He also questioned the cleric's professional training, saying consent is a fundamental principle in traditional medicine, just as it is in conventional healthcare.

"You said you studied traditional medicine; were you not taught what consent is? You were not even supposed to let us know you went to drop herbs. You are only looking for Customers. It's not fair," he added, warning that such behaviour would have resulted in a lawsuit if it had occurred abroad.

Cleric's Update on Ogogo's Condition

The cleric had shared a worrying account of his hospital visit, saying that Ogogo's condition left him shaken. He noted that the actor had lost so much strength that the herbal remedy may no longer be of practical help.

"I saw Alhaji Hassan Ogogo yesterday at the hospital; at this junction, he only needs God's intervention. In fact, he doesn't even have strength for herbs at the moment; he can't even eat anymore," the cleric said, urging followers to keep the actor in prayer.

In related news, Legit.ng had earlier reported that actor Jide Kosoko addressed offers of spiritual assistance made to Ogogo.
