Tears as Rita Edochie Grieves Death of Loved One, Fans, Colleagues Sympathise with Her

Nollywood actress Rita Edochie is currently mourning the death of a dear one.

The veteran actress shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram page. According to her, last Sunday turned black after she suddenly lost someone very dear to her heart.

Despite the grief, the sister-in-law of legendary actor Pete Edochie managed to find strength in her faith.

She wrote:

“Last Sunday evening turned black for me. I lost a dear one so close to my heart. Even in pain, I whisper it is well with my soul. This wasn’t seen coming. I can’t thank you all enough who called and sent messages to know why I have not been posting. Thank you”.

The actress confirmed the heartbreaking news on August 29, 2025, via Instagram, where she posted his picture alongside a tribute.

In the same vein, veteran Yoruba actress Peju Ogunmola's only son passed on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Actress Biola Adebayo announced his death on Instagram.

Similarly, another Yoruba actress, Joke Jigan, had lost her sister, Lizzy. She shared photos of herself and the deceased, questioning why death is everywhere as she contemplated logging off from social media. Mourning her sister, she told her to rest in peace.

Rita Edochie shows new Oyinbo man

Legit.ng earlier reported that Rita Edochie caused a stir after she showed off an Oyinbo man in a video, hinting at a new relationship.

Rita was seen singing to the Oyinbo man, identified as Tony. The clip also captured him giving the Nollywood actress a peck.
