Odumodu Shares Near-Death Experience with Drug Abuse: “I Almost Didn’t Make It”

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has opened up about a chapter of his life that could have cut his rising career short.

The hitmaker admitted that he once struggled with illicit drug use while studying at the University of Lagos. According to him, one abuse incident nearly cost him his life.

Speaking on the Tea With Tay podcast, Odumodublvck recalled how a routine indulgence spiraled into a life-threatening experience.

He recounted:

“I was a very bright student while at UNILAG, but I was indulging in illicit drugs. One day, I took it and almost died. I called my mother to book my flight to return to Abuja. After that incident, I only took drugs once before quitting."

The rapper admitted that his story could have ended tragically, like many others who never recovered from drug addiction.

He stated:

“I’m grateful because some people went into that life and didn’t make it out. Some people didn’t make it alive. Some had lost people to it — they died because of drug abuse. Some even committed su*cide. I’ve seen a pregnant woman and her husband battling drug addiction. It’s really terrible!” he said.

Rapper Odumodu chides junior colleague

Legit.ng earlier reported that award-winning artist Odumodublvck issued a stern warning to budding artist Wavestar, who was closely affiliated with Blaqbonez.

In the clip, which surfaced online, the Declan Rice crooner was seen confronting Wavestar at a recent event, expressing his displeasure over the latter’s failure to greet him.
