VeryDarkMan Calls Out Dangote Over 22-Year-Old Lady Allegedly Abandoned in Hospital

  • Social media activist VeryDarkMan shared a video of a young lady allegedly abandoned after being hit by a Dangote truck
  • He claimed the 22-year-old has spent 11 months in Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital with bills exceeding N5m
  • The activist vowed that trucks would not be allowed in Auchi until the victims are cared for by the Dangote Group

Activist Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has accused the Dangote Group of abandoning a 22-year-old accident victim in Auchi, Edo State.

The development comes just days after Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna Otabor, publicly called out Dangote Group when her sister, Ruth, was also crushed by one of the company’s trucks in Auchi.

Three days ago, Dangote Group released a statement assuring that it would cover all medical expenses for Ruth.

According to him, the lady, whose identity was withheld, was on her way to work on her final-year project when she was crushed by a Dangote truck.

VDM claimed the victim has now spent 11 months in the hospital and has accumulated medical bills of over N5 million, which neither the truck driver nor the company has taken responsibility for.

He wrote:

“On reaching the hospital in Auchi, Edo State, we met an abandoned victim of Dangote’s reckless, unlicensed driver. She has been in the hospital for 11 months with bills of over 5 million naira; Dangote has abandoned her."

The activist, who joined a protest in Auchi against Dangote trucks, insisted that the company must begin taking care of all such victims.

In his post, VDM directly addressed Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, stressing that the demand was not a fight but a call for accountability.

He further threatened that trucks belonging to Dangote would not be allowed to operate in Auchi until the company attends to its victims.

However, as of the time of filing this report, the company has not responded to VDM’s fresh allegations.
