Daddy Showkey Makes Surprising Revelation About Relationship With Ayinde Barrister, Seen With Late Fuji Star

Not many people know that singer John Odafe Asieme aka Daddy Showkey had a close-knit relationship with veteran musician and pioneer of fuji music, late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
An old interview given by Daddy Showkey in 2020 resurfaced on social media and the clip saw the singer give a detailed narration of his time with the late fuji star.

In the interview with Oludasile Fuji, Daddy Showkey explained how he was first discovered by Barrister at an NTV show around 1978/1979 while displaying his acrobatic skills. The meeting was the first of others to come in the future.
After the first encounter, Daddy Showkey recounted joining the late legend on stage again in 1984 when he was about 14-years old.

The singer narrated how bouncers had initially refused him entry before Barrister sent his manager to intercede and let him into the venue.
Unfortunately, he said he lost contact with Barrister after starting a job at Wharf in 1985. Daddy Showkey also recounted how he once stole money from his mum just to purchase an album of the fuji maestro.
Reuniting with Barrister
After they lost contact in 1985, Daddy Showkey narrated how they were reunited in 1994, after he (Daddy Showkey) had also launched into music and released a record.
Daddy Showkey said he set out to find the fuji maestro even though he was advised against it because there were talks of Barrister jinxing the fortune of those who he lays his hands upon.
Undeterred by the naysayers, Daddy Showkey narrated how he heard the fuji singer had an appearance at Faslak Hotel and he begged the hosts to allow him to meet with Barrister.
According to Daddy Showkey, Barrister recognized him immediately after entering the room and even asked his Islamic clerics to bless the cassette he brought along.
Daddy Showkey recounted making an appearance later on when Barrister performed and how the fuji star sprayed him about N280k while singing his praises.
In a different portion of the interview, Daddy Showkey recounted an outstanding act of kindness the late fuji maestro extended to him during a trying time.
