WAEC stated: “The registration period for CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2025–Second Series has been extended to Friday, September 19, 2025.
All prospective candidates are admonished to make good use of this opportunity.”
The announcement comes amid growing interest in the computer-based format of the WASSCE, which WAEC introduced to streamline examination logistics and improve accessibility for private candidates across West Africa.
Education analysts have noted that the extension may benefit late registrants and those facing technical or financial challenges, particularly in rural areas where internet access remains inconsistent.
The CB-WASSCE Second Series is designed for individuals who are not currently enrolled in full-time secondary school programmes but wish to obtain the WASSCE qualification for academic or professional advancement.
WAEC has urged all eligible candidates to take advantage of the extended timeline and complete their registration promptly to avoid last-minute complications.
For more information on the registration process and examination guidelines, candidates are advised to visit WAEC’s official website or contact designated registration centres nationwide.
