What is PTDF scholarship?
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Overseas Scholarship Scheme is a prestigious initiative by the Nigerian government aimed at developing indigenous human capacity in the oil and gas sector.
Each year, the programme offers fully funded scholarships to qualified Nigerians pursuing Master’s and PhD degrees in top universities abroad, particularly in disciplines relevant to petroleum technology and energy sustainability.
The selection process is highly competitive, involving rigorous screening and interviews to ensure only the most deserving candidates are chosen. Successful awardees receive support covering tuition, living expenses, travel, and insurance, enabling them to focus entirely on their academic and research pursuits.
Beyond financial aid, the PTDF scholarship fosters global exposure, technical expertise, and leadership development among Nigerian scholars. It plays a vital role in bridging the skills gap in the energy sector and contributes to national development by equipping professionals with world-class education and experience.
