Budget padding: 10 things to know about Abdulmumin Jibrin

The controversy in Nigeria's House of Representatives revolving around the now famous 'budget padding' is yet to die down.

While the case is still in the court of law and indeed the court of public opinion, the man behind the whole controversy, Honourable Abdulmumin Jibrin has decided to provide more information about his personality.

Perhaps because of doubts expressed about his intention by some Nigerians, Jibrin took to his twitter page to provide more details about himself.

1. Honourable Jibrin was educated at the University of Abuja and the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bsc, Msc and PhD in politics and international affairs.

2. Honourable Jibrin holds an MBA from Swiss business School  Zurich, Switzerland, PLD Havard, SEP London business school, TSM INSEAD, France and OSLP, Oxford.

3. He started work and business in the media and construction industry at 19 with Century Research and Communications Limited and Federal Housing Authority respectively.

4. He established Green Forest Investment Limited in 2003 and later Chairman/CEO of the expanded Green forest Group with several subsidiaries

5. He was Chairman (Nigeria) of Turkish construction giant, Tasyapi, Chairman Abuja branch Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce before joining the House of Representatives.

6. He lectured at several universities mostly pro bono, wrote several books and papers including a celebrated book on former President Olusegun Obasanjo's foreign policy.

7. He resigned from Green Forest Limited in 2011 to join politics, contested and won election into the House  of Reps under the Peoples Democratic Party in 2011 and under the All Progressives Congress in 2015

8. He was chairman House Committee on Finance 7th Assembly and chairman House Committee Appropriation 8th Assembly until he resigned.

9. He was the 3rd Nigerian recipient of the French International Visitors Leadership Program since 1989 and fellow of several professional bodies

10. He is a Paul Harris fellow of Rotary and holds the traditional title of Jarman Bebeji.
