Zaria Bloody Clash: Shi'ite's Leader's Wife Is Alive - Army

The reported killing of the wife of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheik Ibrahim Zakzaky, has been denied by the Nigerian army.

The army said the wife, Zeenatudeen, is alive and under protective custody alongside her husband who was said to have been shot by troops in the overnight raid on the sect leader's residence.

According to Sahara Reporters, this clarification was made this evening, December 14, by the general officer commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian army, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, at a press conference.
