Security beefed up at LASU on the day of its reopening.

The students were spotted discussing the issues in groups on the campus. The resumption was in compliance with

Prof. Kabir Akinyemi, the Dean of Students Affairs, confirmed that the university’s portal had been reopened for the final year students alone.

He said the reopening of the portal would enable them to register online ahead of their rain semester examinations.

The don said writing the examinations would also enable the final year students to participate in the June batch of National Youth Service Corps programme.

Prof. Akinyemi further explained that security had been beefed up in the campus to prevent any possible protest.

Prof. Akinyemi urged other students to be patient and wait for their dates of resumption.

It would be noted that the newly-admitted students for the 2013/2014 session are to resume on March 10, 2014, while other categories of students are to report on April 1, 2014.
