I'll Continue Fighting Corruption No Matter What - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, August 17, reiterated his commitment to staying resolved in the fight against corruption, notwithstanding the pressure that might be put on his administration.

The presidency made this known addressing the group of Nigeria which staged an anti-corruption protest at the gate of Aso Rock earlier today.

According to Vanguard, represented by his media aide Femi Adesina, Buhari vowed to persecute all those involved in public funds embezzlement in compliance with the rule of law.

"I believe it is time for Nigeria to change course. That is why I sought election as president and got elected. As president, I am determined that Nigeria must move away from a course of endemic corruption that was leading us to perdition.

"There can be no question of our wilfully allowing anyone to get away with corruption. No matter the pressure and entreaties, the anti-corruption war will continue and all accused persons will have their day in court."

Nigeria's number one politician also promised to deal with security challenge and unemployment, which issues were one of the major points of the APC election campaign.

In conclusion President Buhari called for the support and solidarity from Nigerians in his government's genuine attempt to move the country forward.

It should be noted that the country leader has recently launched massive anti-corruption campaign. Speaking on several occasions he vowed to prosecute public funds looters. Moreover investigation of oil money management has already started in relation to several major bodies in the country.
