Flight operations paralysed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos due to power failure

Twice tonight the entire Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos suffered massive power outages leading to disruptions in flight operations at the airport.

The power outage happened twice according to a journalist, Ahmed Salkida, who witnessed the blackout.

The first blackout which happened at 7:45pm lasted for two minutes. A second one, which is still ongoing, started at 8:06 PM.

Salkida, who is a passenger on a Dubai bound Emirates flight said the boarding is currently going on in complete darkness as the airliner deploys torchlight to assist customers to get on board.
