EFCC dissociates from unauthorised content
In a public notice via Instagram, the anti-corruption agency stressed that it had not granted permission to any individual or group to use its branding for entertainment or commercial purposes.
“The EFCC does not endorse, sponsor or approve any comedy, drama or online content that uses our identity without written consent,” the statement said.
It further noted that several of the skits in circulation misrepresented the commission’s values and operational standards.
Public cautioned against misuse of EFCC identity
The commission warned members of the public, especially digital creators, to desist from using its insignia, uniforms or any related identifiers without formal approval.
“Be warned,” the EFCC stated.
It added that unauthorised use of its identity was not only improper but also punishable under the law.
The agency also advised that any individual or group intending to reference the commission in media content must first obtain written authorisation.
Legal action threatened against offenders
The EFCC made it clear that violators of the directive would face legal consequences, reiterating its commitment to protecting its institutional image.
It said enforcement actions would be taken against those who continue to exploit its identity for skits, promotions or any form of digital content without consent.

EFCC arrests ex-chairman of popular bank
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested businessman and former Chairman of the now-defunct Skye Bank Plc, Tunde Ayeni, over allegations of large-scale financial misconduct involving billions of naira and millions of dollars.
Ayeni was reportedly picked up in Abuja on Thursday and remains in EFCC custody as investigators continue to examine the case.
The anti-graft agency is probing allegations that funds estimated at ₦36.5 billion and $30 million were diverted from Polaris Bank Plc through companies allegedly linked to the former bank chief. This was disclosed in a statement by his special adviser on strategic communication and media relations, Bolaji Tunji, who noted that the major part of the meeting involved the presentation of the National Integrated Electricity Policy and the Strategic Implementation Plan.
