President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo are yet to move to Aso Rock and have been operating from the Defence House Abuja since they were sworn in on May 29.

This is due to the ongoing renovation works at the Aso rock villa.

Below are some pictures released by the state house on the progress made at the Aso rock villa, apparently to douse speculations that Buhari’s delay in moving was because of spiritual cleansing.

Some who spoke to Daily Trust on condition of anonymity said the president's side of the Villa, including his residence, offices and the Council Chambers, had been completely renovated.

There had been speculations that Buhari had imported Islamic clerics from Senegal to “cleanse” Aso rock which serves as the office and residence of Nigerian leaders, before he moves in.

Malam Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant on media and publicity debunked this rumour, insisting that the so-called spiritual cleansing of the Aso Rock Villa was the figment of the imagination of rumour mongers.
