Gunmen Rob Residence Of Mohammed Uwais

Suspected armed men March 3 stormed the official residence of Nigeria's former Chief Justice, Mohammed Uwais.

Punch reports, referring to its sources that the robbers invaded Uwais's residence in Asokoro, Abuja, between 1am and 2am and carted away valuables.

The suspects were said to have beaten up security and climbed up the fence to reach the bedroom of the ex CJN, who served at the position between 1995 and 2006.

The gunmen operated for about an hour, it was learnt. Uwais was locked in his study room while they were ransacking his bedroom.

The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, purportedly visited the site on the day of the crime conduct. However, Abuja police official, Anjuguri Mamzah, denied knowledge about the incident, when contacted.

"I am not aware of the incident please."
