The Embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and other members of the National Working Committee, NWC, on Tuesday held a marathon meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential villa.

The meeting was part of moves by Tukur and his team to have a soft landing ahead of Thursday’s National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting where they are expected to resign following the report of Senator Anyim Pius Anyim led Committee set up by the President to find a lasting solution to the lingering political quagmire in the party.

The outcome of the meeting which was still in progress as at the time of this report, will determine to a very large extent whether or not the recommendation of Anyim’s committee report would be respected by the NWC members, even as it was gathered that Tukur was not ready to resign as he was said to stated that he was yet to get such a directive.

More to follow.
