The promise of providing jobs has been a common theme among presidential candidates ahead of the February Polls and President Goodluck Jonathan will not shy from it after he promised to provide jobs for Nigerians if elected through the agricultural sector during his Kwara Campaign Rally.
This time he made the promise in Kwara State during his campaign rally in the state. Jonathan also assured the people of the state that his government would not disappoint them if they voted for PDP candidates in all the elections.
According to PM news, the president promised to create an avenue for wealth creation, adding that young graduates would benefit from his administration’s initiatives.
The president also gave an assurance that he would work with the people of the state to create an atmosphere where they would develop their potentials without fear of intimidation.
“We don’t want a government run by intimidation; you must be able to express yourselves. That is the reason I signed the Freedom of Information Bill into law.
“Nigeria is not a zoological garden, Nigeria is not a forest, it is a country that its citizens must be free to express themselves,” he said.
Senate President David Mark, in his remarks, assured the president that the North Central Zone of the country would record the highest votes for him on February 14.
Mark also assured the president that the PDP would reclaim Kwara and Nasarawa States, adding that the party would check rigging.
It would be recalled that recently, Minister of agriculture and rural development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina boasted that the agricultural sector would topple the nation’s oil sector in no distant time.
