Two Die In Kogi Auto Crash
Two persons yesterday died while three others sustained serious injuries in an accident that occurred at Alede village along the Ajaokuta-Lokoja road.
An eyewitness said the accident which happened at about 12pm involved a Toyota Carina with registration number AR 556 LKJ and a Volvo truck with registration number XQ 540 JJJ. He said the car coming from Lokoja axis overtook a truck and in the process collided with the oncoming truck, killing two persons and injuring three others.
Kogi Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Olakunle Motajo, who confirmed the accident, attributed it to wrong overtaking. He said five persons were involved in the accident out of which two died while three other sustained injuries, saying the dead ones include a male and a female.
The sector commander said the corpses were deposited at the Federal Medical Centre’s morgue.
