CJN Swears In FCT Acting Chief Judge

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mariam Mukthar has advised the acting Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory, Justice Ibrahim Bukar to lead his fellow justices by example.

Speaking in Abuja at the swearing-in ceremony of the acting FCT Chief Judge, Justice Mukthar stressed that the Chief Judge must be diligent in the exercise of his functions as well as ensure that cases are speedily heard and determined.

She restated the need for the acting Chief Judge to sit promptly by 9am in addition to providing exemplary leadership in all ramifications as she warned that absenteeism will not be tolerated.

It will be recalled that the office of the FCT Chief Judge became vacant due to the resignation of the Justice Lawal Gummi, who resigned his appointment as the Chief Judge of the FCT before being turbaned as the Emir of Gummi in Zamfara state.
