Gombe: Unknown Gunmen Kill Minority Leader

Unknown gunmen Wednesday night reigned bullets that sent the Minority Leader of Gombe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulhamid Waziri Doho to his early grave.

A close friend of the deceased, Malam Adamu Yakubu, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the incident, said: "Six strange-looking men arrived the residence of the lawmaker, opposite Gombe State University, at around 8:30 pm local time and shot him at close range.

"Three of them immediately went into the sitting room, where they met the late Waziri and rained several shots on him, leaving him in a pool of his blood, while his married daughter that rushed to assist escaped with a gunshot wound on her left arm," Yakubu explained.

When contacted on telephone, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Fwaje Atajiri (DSP) told newsmen that he was still compiling his facts on the incident.
