A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has been celebrated on social media for his thoughtful act that helped a student in his class get time to concentrate on her studies.
Troy Littleton bought a crib and placed it in his office to help one of his students, a mother to a nine-month-old child.

Posting the image of the crib on Twitter back in early May, the teacher labelled it his "favourite new equipment", saying it was meant for his student, Karen, to bring her infant child.
He quipped that he would also get to play with the little one as her mother works on her thesis.
Troy wrote:
"My favourite new equipment purchase for the lab – a travel crib to go in my office so my graduate student can bring her 9-month old little girl to work when necessary and I get to play with her while her mom gets some work done. Win-win!"
Weeks later, the tweet went viral, and the two (mother and professor) appeared in the local media as their story touched many.
Speaking to NBC Boston News, Karen said she has a baby monitor set up in class to hear whatever is going on in Troy's office.

"I could hear her from my bench and lab and I was able to do the work I needed to do. It's not a replacement for child care, but it is really helpful."
She also added that she is pleased to take care of her schedule and have a safe place to put her daughter down for a few minutes.
Troy said the crib would stay as long as Karen or any other young mother needs it.

In a similar story, a viral video of a Nigerian lecturer carrying his student's baby while the mum received a lecture warmed the hearts of many online.
In the video shared on Instagram, the Western Delta University lecturer walked around the classroom as the lecture continued, and the baby did not interrupt the flow.
