Nigerian author Reno Omokri has caused quite a stir on social media after advising men to focus on sending monetary gifts to their parents on their birthdays instead of extending such to their girlfriends.

He said instead of sending a text to parents on their birthdays and sending monetary gifts to girlfriends for the same purpose, the reverse should be the case.
