Jubilation As Nigerian Forward Scores Brace for Top Spanish Club in a Tough League Encounter

Nigeria international Sadiq Umar extends his goal tally this season to 24 after scoring twice in Almeria's 2-2 draw against Real Oviedo on Saturday, May 1.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring for the home team from the spot in the 22nd minute and doubled his effort on the half-hour mark.

His goals meant the hosts controlled the game for the most part of the opening half but failed to turn up in the second half.

Samuel Obeng Gyabaa and Simone Grippo turned up for the visitors in the 54th and 83rd minutes to ensure they share the spoils in the end.

With this result, Almeria remain winless in their last five league games having lost two and drawn three as they remain eight points behind second-place Real Mallorca.

The 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medal winner has also assisted seven other goals in 48 appearances as they sit third on the league table with few games left to play.

Meanwhile, Rojiblancos will continue their quest to gain promotion into the La Liga when they visit Tenerife on Friday, May 8.
