Nigerian forward Sadiq Umar who currently plays for Spanish side Almeria has reportedly emerged as main transfer target for reigning European champions Bayern Munich.

This latest development comes hours after Bayern Munich suffered a surprise home defeat in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg encounter against Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite playing in the second division in Spain, Sadiq Umar remains one of the best Nigerian forwards in Europe considering his superb performances this season.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Bayern Munich are looking up to bolster their squad at the end of the current campaign and the Nigerian is one of their targets.

In history, no Nigerian has played for Bayern Munich and Umar Sadiq will want to jump on the opportunity of playing for the world's best team.

However, Sadiq will hope that his club Almeria reduce his asking price so as to convince Bayern Munich chiefs to open their wallet.

Almeria paid Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade €5m to secure the services of Sadiq excluding bonuses, with an exit clause of €60m inserted in the contract.

So far, Umar Sadiq has featured in 29 League games for Almeria and has scored 15 goals which is an impressive record.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are still topping the German Bundesliga table with 64 points after 27 games played so far this season.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Kylian Mbappe netted a brace helping French club Paris Saint-Germain to a 3-2 away win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg.

It was a fixture involving last year’s finalists and the game lived up to its pre-match razzmatazz as it was entertaining from start to finish.

It took PSG less than three minutes to open the scoring after the Frenchman was fed by Neymar in the box with the striker blasting through Manuel Neuer's legs to make it 1-0.

And midway through the first half, the visitors doubled their lead courtesy a Marquinhos strike who finished-off so well before Bayern striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting headed home to halve the deficit.

The German side then raised their game in the second half - and after piling so much pressure, the they leveled up deservedly when Thomas Muller guided his header into the back of the net.
