Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of the world's first cryptocurrency, bitcoin, has joined the top 20 richest person on earth due to the number of bitcoin held by Nakamoto, who remains unknown to the world.

The name Nakamoto is a pseudonym used by the creator of the most popular cryptocurrency in order to hide his identity from financial regulators in 2009 after the bank crisis in 2008.

Nakamoto holds 980,000 bitcoins, which is the largest holding by a cryptocurrency investor. The bitcoin possession pushed Nakamoto into the list of the 20 wealthiest persons alive with about $62billion - making him the 19th richest person on earth.

This.valuation put Nakamoto in 19th position when Legit.ng compared his wealth to Forbes ranking of richest people in the world. Although the name didn't appear on Forbes radar due to the lack of facial identity.

Several persons have come out to publicly claim they created bitcoin and used the name Satoshi Nakamoto, giving different reasons why the name was chosen, but their claim have been seen as identify theft.

Despite the popularity of bitcoin and cryptocurrency, Nakamoto's true identify hasn't been known and no activity have been recorded on the wallet where his bitcoins are held.

There are claims that Nakamoto could either be alive or probably dead due to the inactivity on the 980,000 bitcoins. The person is neither buying nor selling - just holding for over a decade since bitcoin was $0.

The crypto now trades at $63,106.05 (N24.05 million) at the early hours of Friday, April 16, 2021, when this report was being filed. The market capitalisation of bitcoin has also grown to $1.18 trillion (N449.10 trillion).

With the rate bitcoin is rising, Nakamoto becoming the richest man on earth and the first wealthiest person never known is not farfetched, as bitcoin has grown by 117.09 precent  year to date, while rising by 900 percent in twelve months.

But bitcoin price will have to surge to $180,000 before Nakamoto surpass Jeff Bezos, the richest man on earth with $177 billlion. Although, bitcoin has been projected to reach $100,000 this year.

It is known that 2,500 people control almost half of the cryptocurrency market, but Nakamoto owns five percent of the total bitcoin that would ever be created.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Shoei Kisen the owner of Ever Given, has been fined $900 million by Egypt government for the breakdown of the ship in Suez Canal, trapping 400 other ships.

The government said the blockade caused by the ship cost the country between $12 million to $15 million every day Ever Given was stuck. The ship broke down for six days.

Both the owner and insurance companies are negotiating with Egypt to agreed on an amount, but the country is eyeing $900 million.
