An Instagram page called Yoruba blog has shared an interesting post about singer Davido's grandfather, Chief Raji Ayoola Adeleke.

The late chief was said to be a second republic senator and labour activist from Ede who represented Osun Senatorial District 11.

Chief Adeleke was reportedly born by Madam Adeboyin of OniIegogoro's compound who was one of the most outstanding Iyalode (the head of market women) that Ede ever produced.

The late Adeleke reportedly earned a registered nurse certificate from the medical department nursing school in 1947 and became an early member of the pioneer union of Nigerian nurses in 1948.

In his lifetime, he was the vice-president and director of the Organisation, United Labour Congress of Nigeria, Federal Labour Advisory Council, and chairman of Nigerian Red Cross in Ede. In 1976, he was conferred with the title of Balogun of Ede.

Davido's grandfather reportedly married twice and his second wife was said to be from Enugu state.
