Celebrated American poet, Amanda Gorman, dazzled in regal kente as she made history as the first poet to grace the cover of fashion magazine Vogue, for its May issue.

Gorman gained prominence after her momentous spoken word performance of The Hill We Climb at President Joe Biden and Vice-president Kamala Harris' inaugural ceremony in January.

The youth poet has remained true to her roots and principles as she only takes up roles or features that align with her values.

In an Instagram post to celebrate her historic achievement, Gorman wrote, ''The first poet ever on the cover of @voguemagazine. I am eternally grateful and do not expect to be the last - for what is poetry if not beauty?'' What a joy to do this cover while wearing a piece designed by groundbreaking Black designer @virgilabloh that honours my heritage.''

Gorman, for her Vogue cover, was styled in a stunning Louis Vuitton Blanket designed with Kente by Louis Vuitton’s first Black artistic director Virgil Abloh.

In an eye-catching snap by Annie Leibovitz, Gorman enhanced her looks with a blanket cinched to her waist and a glamourous gold belt, revealing one shoulder and hand.
