Supporters of a former Imo state governor, Emeka Ihedioha are celebrating him on social media as he celebrates his 56th birthday on Wednesday, March 24.
Ihedioha, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, still commands a large following in Imo state and beyond.
Removed from office after a controversial judgement by the Supreme Court which sparked outrage across Nigeria, Ihedioha continues to enjoy the goodwill of Nigerians in general and Imolites in particular.
Since leaving office, the former governor's popularity remains intact and has even soared with many Imolites sustaining their loyalty to him.

As he celebrates his birthday, supporters of the former governor have been sending their best wishes to him and sharing some throwback photos of Ihedioha during his younger days.
Recall that Legit.ng had named Ihedioha as one of the former governors in Nigeria who have a cult-like following in their states.
In eulogising Ihedioha's political prowess, the article noted:
“He spent roughly 8 months in office, but Ihedioha is like a tin-god in Imo state. The last time he visited the state, it was chaotic scenes from the airport to his private home in the state capital.
“A former federal lawmaker, Ihedioha is one politician who has tasted power both at the federal and state level, but his humility is second to none. In Imo, the people practically worship him.
“Even outside power, Ihedioha commands huge respect among the populace and many are already counting down to 2024 when he is expected to be on the ballot of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state's governorship poll.
“If there is anything that gives Ihedioha an edge in Imo politics, it is the fact that, unlike his rivals, he does not need to spend money to get the people to love him. They take to him naturally and he has become a rallying point for the people, yearning for genuine change.”
In a related development, the Imo state chapter has denied reports that Ihedioha and some notable leaders of the party are planning to decamp to the All Progressives Congress.
According to the party, the report is mischievous and a poorly scripted story attributed to some newspapers as well as other social media news platforms.
The PDP said Ihedioha has no reason to contemplate such, stressing that he has no plans to defect to another political platform.
