Pandemonium in southeast state as hoodlums kill 2 policemen

The police command in Anambra state has thrown into mourning following the death of two officers.

According to Daily Trust, hoodlums killed 2 policemen in Ekwulobia, headquarters of Aguata local government area of Anambra state.

The news publication noted that the suspects reportedly carted away the arms of the officers after they opened fire on the officers.

The policemen were stationed at a checkpoint in the area when the hoodlums attacked.

This unfortunate incident is coming a day after suspected hoodlums attacked the World Bank Housing Estate Police Station, Abayi in Aba, and carted away weapons.

The police station was burnt in the attack which reportedly occurred on Tuesday, February 23, around 2 am.

A source said the attack took the police by surprise, adding that the situation has created more tension in the city, as police officers are now working in fear.

Gunmen kill mobile policeman

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a policeman was killed by gunmen in Delta state. After the criminals shot the mobile police officer, they waited and confirmed that he was dead.

After this, they took his rifle and went away with it. The incident occurred on Friday, December 11, 2020, along Jakpa Road, in Effurun, Uvwie local government area of Delta state.

The deceased officer is said to be attached to VIP.

Court sends Nigerian teacher to prison for killing 3 policemen

In a related development, a teacher in Benue state has been remanded in prison for allegedly murdering three policemen.

The remand order was issued by a magistrates’ court in Makurdi on Tuesday, February 2, The Leadership reported.
