Real Madrid may be in more problem than they could imagine as Raphael Varane has hinted he wants to leave the club when his contract expires next year.

Although, this early notification might give the Spanish League defending champions enough room to find his replacement in the summer.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner joined Los Blancos in 2011 when he was only 17 and has already won 18 titles so far at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With his contract expiring in about 18 months, Varane will be free to negotiate fresh terms with a potential club starting from next January according to SunSport quoting Spanish news outlet SPORT.

The defender is one of the players with a robust relationship with the manager Zinedine Zidane owing to their French connection, yet, he wants to move away from the club soon.

Zidane also faces losing club captain and Varane's defensive partner Sergio Ramos. The Spaniard's contract runs out in just six months' time and the player is yet to commit his future to the club.

Sources reveal that negotiations between Ramos and his employers have reportedly dragged on due to disputes over the length and financial terms.

They have a policy of only offering one-year contracts to players over the age of 30 but Ramos, 34, wants a two-season guarantee.

And the club could be facing a similar exit as Cristiano Ronaldo, who made the shock move to Juventus in 2018.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for coronavirus barely 48 hours after his side was dumped out of the Copa Del Rey championship at the rounds of 32 stage.

This means that the underfire French manager will not be available when Los Blancos take on Deportivo Alaves away from home on Saturday, January 23.

The Galacticos are currently trailing their log leaders Atletico Madrid with seven points after 18 rounds of matches. They confirmed the development on their official website.
